Public Art | We Were All Once Refugees
In February 2018, Kuchinate collaborated with Mia Schon to create a public installation at Rothschild 10 in Tel Aviv. Mia's colorful and vibrant mosaic murals can be spotted in a variety of Israeli locations. The aim of this work was to raise awareness about the issues facing asylum seekers in Israel today. The artists repurposed found materials to create a message in mosaic, to engage the Israeli community in conversation and make the invisible members of society visible. In true Kuchinate style, something beautiful was created in order to do something powerful - in this case, to remind the Israeli public of their collective history.
